The Future Lies Here

Surrey, British Columbia is situated 35 minutes southeast of Vancouver, B.C. It is BC’s second largest city and the fastest growing city in Canada. The city motto, “The Future Lies Here,” aptly describes Diamond Parking’s expanding vision of its parking operations in the Greater Vancouver area and the Fraser Valley. “Surrey is the gateway to metro Vancouver,”says Diamond Parking’s Jason Terada, City Manager for Surrey.
“It’s a multicultural 21st century destination that attracts young professionals and young families.”

Jason joined Diamond Parking in 2006 as Area Manager in Vancouver B.C. Rapid growth in Surrey led to his promotion to City Manager. In addition to Surrey, he oversees parking operations in the municipalities of Burnaby, White Rock, Langley, Coquitlam, Chilliwack and Port Moody. “What I like best about being a City Manager
is developing and managing client relationships from the very beginning. My day is filled with seeking out new locations, improving operations and providing site specific solutions to our clients. I couldn’t do it without my talented field staff.”

Jason notes that each city has different needs. As a result, he says his management style is adaptive and flexible allowing him to make quick decisions. “Our portfolio is a mix of pay parking, monthly parking, enforcement agreements and partnerships. It’s a changing landscape that requires me to
make myself available 24/7.”

Prior to joining Diamond, Jason worked as a District Manager in the food and beverage industry and an Operations & Marketing Manager in the logistics industry. He migrated to the west coast of Canada from his hometown of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada’s oldest and most easterly city. Away from Diamond, you can often find Jason playing ball hockey, one of Canada’s most popular sports.
