Big City Amenities, Small Town Feel

The picturesque city of Kelowna, British Columbia, boasts a population of 117,000 plus. It’s the largest city of BC’s Okanagan Valley and a study in contrasts to its booming neighbor of Calgary to the east. However, Kelowna does share with Calgary the opportunity to expand Diamond Parking’s portfolio.

“We’ve come a long way since we first opened operations in 2009 and introduced the Diamond Parking Brand,” notes City Manager Peter Grewal. Peter says he implemented a boots on the ground strategy to build Diamond’s business. “Beginning operations was the most difficult. We were an unknown brand. The competition had the market cornered completely. I had to use all of my resources to show landlords and property owners a tangible product that they could trust.”

Clean, Livable and Booming

In June of 2013, Diamond Parking Canada acquired its first parking management contracts in Calgary, Alberta. Fueled by the oil and gas industry, Calgary has grown faster than any other major city across Canada for the past 10 years. “We started with just 4 Parking Management contracts and now we have numerous locations throughout the four corners of downtown Calgary,” states Cory Hartwick, Diamond’s Calgary City Manager and Business Development Specialist.
